From
the beginning God put His creation of man on the lunar calendar - a civil
calendar. For one people - His nation of Israel - God made a change. As a
Covenant people, shut up under God’s Covenant of the Law, God began the
ceremonial calendar in Abib (see Ex.12:1-2). The months for the
nation Israel emphasized the worship of Jehovah, their God, with the
three festival seasons when all male Jews were to meet Jehovah in
Jerusalem (Ex.23:14-17; 34:18-23; Deut.16:1, 16; 2 Chron.6:5-6). The seventh
month was kept as the civil accounting.
On the ceremonial calendar Tishri [September], the first
month became the seventh month, a number of completion. The King is coming in
the seventh month, September, the month of His birth.
Two
Great Lights
In the firmament of heaven to give
light upon the earth
|
The greater light to
rule over the day
the
light
|
to
divide from
|
The lesser light to rule
over the night
the
darkness
|
|
The sun to rule over the day - to give light upon the
earth.
In
the light of day, with the physical eyes opened, is seen and heard things
pertaining to God’s creation - things concerning the body of flesh.
|
|
The moon to give light upon the earth in the darkness.
There
are hidden things of darkness in God’s creation to be seen.
|
And God saw it good (see Gen.1:14-19).
|
The Zodiac, with its 12
signs, gives light upon the earth. A greater light to rule over the day
of salvation. The Son of the Eternal Covenant seen in each sign gives the
light of the knowledge of the glory of God as seen in each face of the Son of
the Covenant as He runs His course of the regeneration of making all created
things new. The same glory is seen in the Scriptures.
|
|
The new moon calendar,
with 12 equal months of approximately 30 days each, is the
lesser light to rule over the darkened understanding of the heart of God’s
creation of man, to give the light of the knowledge of the sovereignty of the
Creator-Redeemer over His universe. Light to be shined into the darkened
understanding of man’s ignorance of spiritual realities.
|
|
The
month of the sign in which the sun is tabernacling is determined by a natural
law of God. In His creation of the heavens and the earth God set the
tabernacle for the sun. God designed the earth to rotate on its axis and
revolve around the sun, determining in which sign the sun would tabernacle on
the month of His choosing. There is order to the pictures declaring the light
of the knowledge of the glory of God. As God’s natural laws are unalterable,
there is only one path the sun takes. Natural science has proved this to be
so.
As the natural law of the sun’s path cannot be changed
|
—
|
Time divided into months would necessitate a
calendar of months. As the sun would
make a circuit through 12 signs, the calendar must have 12 months. Each month
must be of equal days. A day must be determined for the first day of each
month. The lesser light, the moon, would be used to give the light of this
knowledge of months and days.
The moon is a symbol of coming from darkness to
light and waning again to darkness. The new moon, with its first horns of
light, would signal the first day of the new month and the power of light to
make known that the sun had passed into the next sign.
So the natural law of the
moon’s renewal cannot be changed.
|
The
natural law of the sun’s path and the natural law of new moon have been set by
the Creator Himself, who is unchangeable and His ways are unchangeable. He is
faithful to His Eternal Covenant and He is trustworthy.
Two
Great Lights
|
The 12 signs of the Zodiac show the Way of the
course of God’s Eternal Covenant. The 12 signs are ordered in a circuit for
the sun to give light on 4 of the other signs in one picture. The sun, in its
tabernacle, is the key to the face of the Son of the Covenant. With the light
of the glory of God in that face and the light of glory seen in the other 4
signs, one has knowledge of a work of God’s grace for mankind. “5" is
the number of “grace.”
|
|
The 12 months of the lunar calendar serve to show the
set order of the months of God’s calendar every year. The set seasons
will come on the same day of the same month every year, assuring the
fulfillment of that prophesied concerning the Son of the Covenant. God’s
calendar, with His set seasons and days and months, will keep giving light on
the knowledge of the truth. God’s calendar will keep telling the truth no
matter how many times man tries to obscure the truth with his own darkened
thinking.
|
The
true light of the knowledge of God is seen with the eyes of understanding of
one’s very being - with the heart (Rom.10:10-13). Whosoever will will be shown
the deep things of God - things of spirit being. Seeing the truth and obeying
the truth is a matter of choice. It is an issue of the will to know God.
History
has proved that the darkness cannot overcome the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God as seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
In Adam’s
day he saw the light and in the light he saw the glory of God shown him in the
knowledge of the Eternal Covenant.
Cain killed Abel, the seed for the
coming Anointed Son. He built a city and took mankind into darkness. They
changed the glory of the righteousness of God through faith in the Son of the
Covenant. They changed the glory of the incorruptible God - the Seed of eternal
life.
God appointed Seth - renewal -
a new day of preaching the light of the knowledge of the glory of God - the
righteousness of God through faith in the Son of the Covenant.
Men loved
the darkness of the imagination of the heart - brought judgment on himself.
God
had one man, Noah - renewal. Nimrod took the earth into darkness.
God
had one man, Abraham - renewal. Abraham’s seed went into Egypt,
took the family into darkness.
God had one man, Moses - renewal
- sent His nation to possess the land under Joshua. Joshua died. There was
darkness in the days of the judges. God had righteous judges give light to the
people.
David’s
day - the King after God’s own heart. Solomon took the people into
darkness. People were sent into captivity.
The Son
of the Covenant sent with life and light for renewal.
